To accommodate students and families that have had difficulty accessing the Community portal, online selection will remain open through Monday, April 26th.  After that time students will need to meet with their counselors to make their course selections.

If you have Community Portal access and need directions for completing the selections online.  You can watch this video created by our Video Production students.  It’s a good summary of what you need to do.

Selecting Courses Online Presentation

Apr 11

If you do not remember how to choose your courses online, this presentation should be of help to you.

Key things to remember:

  1. Don’t go onto the portal until you’ve read through the Educational Planning Guide!
  2. You must have access to the Community Portal to select your courses either with your own account or your parents’ account.  If you need access go to the writing center.
  3. This year you don’t need to print out the confirmation form.   Just print a copy for your own records.

Online Course Selection is Now Open! Students should review the following documents (particularly the planning guide) before going Online to select their courses.

Apr 11

As part of the course selection process, the 8th grade teachers have made recommendations for what the rising freshman should take in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Reading (if necessary), and World Language (if necessary).

When you log into the Community Portal and select courses, you will not be able to change the recommended course.  If you would like to choose a course other than what was recommended, your parents will need to fill out the Recommendation Reconsideration form and submit to the guidance office.   You should still submit your selections.  If after following up on your request it is determined a different course should be chosen, the middle school guidance staff can make that change.

Also:  Parents.  Please make plans to attend the information meeting on Wednesday, April 13th at 7:00 in the high school convocation hall.  Information about course selection will be presented and representatives from every department will be available to answer questions.
