Huckleberry Finn. He has been through a lot like running away, getting kidnapped by his father, and going on an adventure with Jim. He ran away because he did not like the lifestyle of living with the widow. She made him get up early, say grace, and have nice manners. He was kidnapped by his father because he was walking home from school and his father snatched him and kept him in his cabin. Pap later tried to kill Huck, so Huck knew he had to escape. He came up with a very smart scheme to get out by faking his death with a dead pig and some of his hair. He later escaped and the whole town thought he was dead. Huck’s adventures with Jim started when he ran away and met Jim in a forest. He found out Jim was a runaway slave and they ran away together. They have developed a father-son relationship because they both started to care for each other like when Jim thought Huck was dead and he started crying, but Huck just played a trick on him. Jim was angry at Huck for tricking him, but forgave him later.

This shows that Mark Twain was not racist because he believes that everyone is a slave in some way. This articles proves that he does not support racism and thinks that everyone is equal.

One theme is superstition because Pap is very superstitious becuase on page 18 Huck saw his foot prints in the snow and noticed the cross in the heel out keep off the devil. Huck said ” There was a cross in the left footed boot-heel made with big nails to keep off the devil.” This revels that Pap is very superstitious and that he believes in god.
