1. One very important theme in the book “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” is that Huck doesn’t understand religion. One passage from the book is,” You had to wait for the widow to tuck down her head and grumble a little over the victuals.” This shows that Huck doesn’t understand that the widow is praying for the food that they were provided and doesn’t understand religion. Huck also doesn’t understand religion because he refers to heaven and hell as the good place and bad place. Those are only two of the many examples how Huck doesn’t understand religion.
2. Tom Sawyer has a strong influence on Huck throughout the book,”The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.” One example of Tom having a strong influence on Huck is in chapeter 2, when Tom encourages Huck to help him tie up Jim. Tom being the more daring character of the two wants too, but doesn’t since Huck is not much of a risk-taker. This is one of the few examples in which Tom has a strong influence on Huck.
3. “Git up and hump yourself, Jim! There ain’t a minute to lose. They’re after us!” This passage found on page sixty-five is very significant because it shows how Huck doesn’t just care about himself he also cares about Jim. This part in the story shows how much Huck and Jim care about eachother and how both of them can rely on eachother to have eachothers backs.
4. Do you think Huck feels bad about making people think hes dead when he really isn’t?
Why do you think Jim is so superstitious?
