1) Theme- Superstition plays a huge role in Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn. Huck said, , “” Now you think it’s bad luck; but what did you say when i fetched in the snake skin that I found on the top of the ridge the day before yesterday? You said it was the worst bad luck in the world to touch snake skin with my hands. Well, here’s your bad luck! We’ve raked in all this truck and eight dollars besides. I wish we could have some bad luck like this everyday, Jim.”" This passage shows how Huck really doesn’t believe snake skin was bad luck, being that they found so many helpful things in the house. Huck decided to play a trick on Jim and put the superstition to the test. Huck took a dead rattle snake and put it in Jim’s bed. He was unaware rattle snakes mates come and curl up beside the dead mates body. So when Jim got into his bed he was bit by a rattle snake. Huck instantly thought it was the bad luck Jim warned him about. “I made up my mind I wouldn’t ever take aholt of a snake-skin again with my hands, now that I see what come of it.” Showing he believed in the superstitions truth.
