enrique Iglesia Hero

February 23rd, 2011 by Arianna Diaz Vega

Would you dance,
If I asked you to dance?
Would you run,
And never look back?
Would you cry,
If you saw me crying?
And would you save my soul, tonight?

Would you tremble,
If I touched your lips?
Would you laugh?
Oh please tell me this.
Now would you die,
For the one you love?
Hold me in your arms, tonight.

I can be your hero, baby.
I can kiss away the pain.
I will stand by you forever.
You can take my breath away.

Would you swear,
That you’ll always be mine?
Or would you lie?
Would you run and hide?
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
I don’t care…
You’re here, tonight.

I can be your hero, baby.
I can kiss away the pain.
I will stand by you forever.
You can take my breath away.

Oh, I just wanted to hold you.
I just wanted to hold you.
Oh yeah.
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
Well I don’t care…
You’re here, tonight.

I can be your hero, baby.
I can kiss away the pain oh yeah
I will stand by you forever.
You can take my breath away.

I can be your hero, baby.
I can kiss away the pain.
And I will stand by you, forever.
You can take my breath away.
You can take my breath away.

I can be your hero.

I like this song because it expresses true love  .  It represents all you can do when  you love something or some people This is LOVE.

This song is poetry because have rhyme , For example, (lips and this) rhyme.

President Mugabe holding —– to innocent bodies
In Zimbabwe
They make John Pope seem Godly
Sacrilegious and blasphemous

In my lifetime I look back at paths i’ve walked
Where savages fought and pastors taught
WOMEN stomp in high heel boots
And badges screaming,”Young black children stop or I will shoot!”
I look back at cooked crack
Plus cars that pass by
Jaguars mad fly
And I’m guilty for materialism
Blacks is still up in the prison Trust that
So save me your sorries, I’m raising an army
Revolutionary warfare with Damian Marley
We sparkin’ the ions, marching to Zion
You know how Nas be NYC state of mind I’m in

[Verse 1 Repeats]

[Hook]
I got to keep on walking on the road to Zion, man
We gots to keeps it burning on the road to Zion, man

Clean and pure meditation without a doubt
Don’t mek dem take you like who dem took out
Jah will be waiting there we a shout
Jah will be waiting there!

[Chorus 2]

Don’t mek dem take you like who dem took out

Ay! say,

[Hook]
I got to keep on walking on the road to Zion, man
You know…
We got to keep on walking on the road to Zion, man

I like this song because it talks about what goes on in life on a daily basis. I also like this song because i like the artist  he has a gift just like his father to send a message across by his song. It is similar to poetry because it rhyme’s.  It also connects to life so that makes it a poetry. It gives me a self picture because I personally see it everyday. The verses also repeats like the chorus.

one love!

February 23rd, 2011 by Mehretu Tereffe

One Love!
One Heart!
Let’s get together and feel all right.
Hear the children cryin’
(One Love! );
Hear the children cryin’
(One Heart! ),
Sayin’: give thanks and praise
To the Lord and I will feel all right;
Sayin’: let’s get together
And feel all right.
Wo wo-wo wo-wo!

Let them all pass all their dirty
Remarks (One Love! );
There is one question
I’d really love to ask (One Heart! ):
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner,
Who has hurt all mankind just
To save his own beliefs?

One Love! What about the one heart?
One Heart!
What about?
Let’s get together and feel all right
As it was in the beginning
(One Love! );
So shall it be in the end
(One Heart! ),
All right!
Give thanks and praise to the Lord
And I will feel all right;
Let’s get together
And feel all right.
One more thing!

Let’s get together to fight
This Holy Armagiddyon (One Love! ),
So when the Man comes there will be no,
No doom (One Song! ).
Have pity on those whose
Chances grows t’inner;
There ain’t no hiding place
From the Father of Creation.

Sayin’: One Love!
What about the One Heart?
(One Heart! )
What about the?
Let’s get together and feel all right.
I’m pleadin’ to mankind!
(One Love! );
Oh, Lord!
(One Heart)
Wo-ooh!

Give thanks and praise to the Lord
And I will feel all right;
Let’s get together and feel all right.
Give thanks and praise to the Lord
And I will feel all right;
Let’s get together and feel all right.

I like this song because, it is a meaningful song and it tells you to help other people who do not have food, money, and others. also it tells you to be together, to work together and to help each other. This song is like a poetry. because, the first line and the third line have repetition sounds of words. This means the lines rhyme. Also the song has verses.

part of the list

February 23rd, 2011 by Dalina Nguyen

Style of your hair,
shape of your eyes and your nose,
the way you stare
As if you see, right through to my soul,

It’s your left hand and the way
that it’s not quite as big as your right,
the way you stand in the mirror
before we go out at night,

Our quiet time,
your beautiful mind,

They’re a part of the list.
Things that I miss.
Things like your funny little laugh,
the way you smile or the way we kiss.

What I noticed is this:
I come up with
something new, every single time
that I sit and reminisce.

The way you sweet smell
lingers when you leave a room,
(you leave a room)
Stories you tell as we lay
in bed all afternoon.
(all afternoon)

I dreamed you now every night
in my mind is where we meet.
(my mind is where we meet)
and when I’m awake
staring at pictures of you asleep.

Touching your face,
invading you space.

They’re a part of the list.
Things that I miss.
Things like your funny little laugh,
the way you smile or the way we kiss.

What I noticed is this:
I come up with
something new, every single time
that I sit and reminisce.

Oooh, and you’ll live in my memories forever more I swear.
And you’ll live in my memories forever more I swear.

They’re a part of the list.
Things that I miss.
Things like your funny little laugh,
the way you smile, or the way we kiss.

What I noticed is this:
I come up with
something new, every single time
that I sit and reminisce.

Oh-whoa-whoa
Oh-whoa-whoa
Oh-whoa-whoa

Oh-whoa-whoa
Oh-whoa-whoa

I like this song because I like the artist and his songs and how he expresses how he feels through the lyrics. This song is one of my favorites I like it because I love listening to love songs. This is like a poem because one line in the beginning of a verse rhymes with the other line at the end of the verse and poems usually rhyme just like this song.

Justin Bieber- Heartache

February 23rd, 2011 by Lynn Marin Carmenates

But yesterday we were
I don’t understand?

We started out it was perfect
Nothing but fun
And my heart was convinced
To say that you’re the one

And I thought it would last the rest of our lives
Boy was I in for a big surprise,
With no doubt looking round
Thinking that I’m so cool

Same place, same time
Every day of my life
Could we meet after school?
Finally if I didn’t make her cry
She wouldn’t be with another guy

Nothing can cure my headache
Cause I’m experiencing
What they call heartbreak
It’s going to hurt worse
As long as I stay here
I know but man just let me lay here.

Cause this is something that I can’t shake
I must be experiencing what they call heartbreak
They say it’s only just as worse as you make it
I know but man just let me lay here.

Now I’m all tore up taking up
When I was at your door
The first time when you said
Forever I’ll be yours
Started walking your hand in my hand
Feelings got stronger

We made a promise.

And whenever I leave it feels like you’re still with me
But it all came crashing down
Sitting in my room
I gotta get out of here
What am I to do when I look up
And you’re not there.

Nothing can cure my headache
Cause I’m experiencing
What they call heartbreak
It’s going to hurt worse
As long as I stay here
I know but man just let me lay here.

Cause this is something that I can’t shake
I must be experiencing what they call heartbreak
They say it’s only just as worse as you make it
I know but man just let me lay here.

Say I’m to young for love
I got so much live to live ahead
But if only this love?
I could get over
I know I have to deal with the pain.

Nothing can cure my headache
Cause I’m experiencing
What they call heartbreak
It’s going to hurt worse
As long as I stay here
I know but man just let me lay here.

Cause this is something that I can’t shake
I must be experiencing what they call heartbreak
They say it’s only just as worse as you make it
I know but man just let me lay here.

I like this song because it is about his first love. Not every thing is the way that you think, sometimes things changes and you have to accept it. I think this is related to poetry because it is romantic and some of the words match. Also I think this song is like a free verse poem. It is like a form of poetry that has a loose structure, and in this song he is just talking about his feelings.
