Storing Gear during the School Day

Storing Gear during the School Day

There is a ski club storage closet available for storing your ski gear and equipment here at school on the days of our trips. It is the same location as last year, behind the concession stand (in the main hallway from the main office to the cafeteria). Look for a ski club advisor between 7:00-7:25 in the morning, and 2:35-3:00 in the afternoon. The door will be locked outside of those times.

If you are not able to get your gear to the closet before 7:25, please make arrangements to store it in a ski club advisor’s classroom. GEAR CANNOT BE STORED OR DROPPED OFF AT THE MAIN OFFICE.

Skiing in Extreme Cold

Skiing in Extreme Cold

In planning ahead for the season and extreme cold conditions, you may want to review some of the following tips:

  • Wear lots of layers
  • Keep skin covered (consider a neck gaiter or balaclava to cover face)
  • Take breaks inside to warm up
  • Eat high energy foods and stay hydrated
  • Ski with two –or more!– others (which is ALWAYS our recommendation)
  • Use Hand/toe warmers (get them out a few minutes before using them, so they get nice and warm)
