1)  ” hey let us on”  we hopped on the ol’ rickety thang, nothun but a piece of drift wood. the dogs were on our tail and we ran… hard. There stood a boy and a nigger.

“hey is this a runaway?”  da’  boy said that he was his nigger,  his pap and family died and the nigger was all that he had left.

” yes gentlemen, you see right here before you, exiled is the King of France. I tells them when ever they address me they have to get down on one knee and call me ‘your majesty’ but what dhey doan knoe is that I ain’t no King of France ay con artist.

1. “I chose the topic i says to myself, if a body can get anything they pray for, why won’t Deacon Winn get back the money he lost on pork? Why can’t the widow get back her silver snuff-box that was stole? Why can’t Miss Watson fat up? No, i says to myself, there ain’t nothing in it”.  This passage explains how huck thinks by praying he will get everything and anything he wants. This passage has examples of his misunderstandings of religion.

1) Theme- Superstition plays a huge role in Adventures Of  Huckleberry Finn. Huck said, , “” Now you think it’s bad luck; but what did you say when i fetched in the snake skin that I found on the top of the ridge the day before yesterday? You said it was the worst bad luck in the world to touch snake skin with my hands. Well, here’s your bad luck! We’ve raked in all this truck and eight dollars besides. I wish we could have some bad luck like this everyday, Jim.””  This passage shows how Huck really doesn’t believe snake skin was bad luck, being that they found so many helpful things in the house. Huck decided to play a trick on Jim and put the superstition to the test.  Huck took a dead rattle snake and put it in Jim’s bed. He was unaware rattle snakes mates come and curl up beside the dead mates body. So when Jim got into his bed he was bit by a rattle snake. Huck instantly thought it was the bad luck Jim warned him about.  “I made up my mind I wouldn’t ever take aholt of a snake-skin again with my hands, now that I see what come of it.” Showing he believed in the superstitions truth.

Hello my name is Huck. Throughout my adventure I have had to overcome many obstacles and have also been successful on my many tasks. When I was cunning enough to stage my own kidnapping, I used many aspects from what Tom has taught me. I remember when I was preparing the bloody floor, I said, ” I did wish Tom Sawyer was there, I knowed he would take an interest in this kind of business, and throw in the fancy touches.” I really wished Tom was there, we could of had alot of fun making it more interesting and believable. Another one of my successes was when I dressed up like a girl, I knew that i was risking alot, even Jim, but i had to figure out what they were saying about us. I remember meeting a nice lady and almost gave away my position when I hit a rat from a distance. She knew not many girls could throw as well as a boy can. I think both Jim and I make a good team, I’ve had him all wrong this entire time!

“Never mind why, yet. If I’ll tell you how I know the niggers will see each other again-inside of two weeks- here in this house-and prove how  I know it- will you go to Mr. Lothrop’s and stay four days?”

I think its interesting how Huck is so touched by her emotions, I think this is a new side of Huck. do you think Huck will continue to let his feelings influence his actions?

1.I am Jim. I have went through many challenges.  Such as how many people can turn me in! Even huck can but i really trust him with all my heart, he is a great bestfriend. For example when these guys asked if i was black or white he said white! I do not like how we are still heading south because people can turn me in and i will be executed! I wish we didn’t pass Cairo! The people looking for run away slaves said, “mister, is that town Cairo” , “Cairo? no. You must be a b lame’ fool.”” This mostly told me how we passed Cairo and i was very sad but i was scared because they could capture me!

1. ” Now you think it’s bad luck; but what did you say when I fetched in the snake-skin I found at the top of the ridge day before yesterday? You said is was worst bad luck in the world to touch a snake-skin with my hands. Well, here’s your bad luck! We’ve raked in all this truck and eight dollars besides. I wish we could have some bad luck like this everyday, Jim.”

“Never you mind, honey, never you mind. Don’t you git too peart. It’s a-comin’. Mind I tell you, it’s a comin’.”

This passage shows that Huck doesn’t believe in Jim’s superstitions. He is also being smart with/to Jim. He wished he had “bad luck like this everyday”. Jim also says to Huck that “it’s” coming. But once again, Huck doesn’t take Jim’s superstitions seriously.

2. “I lit out. I got into my old rags, and my sugar-hogshead again, and was free and satisfied. But, Tom Sawyer, he hunted me up and said he was going to start a band of robbers, and I might join if I would go back to the widow and be respectable. So I went back…..Pretty soon I heard a twig snap, down in the dark amongst the trees- something saw stirring. I set still and listened. Directly I could just barely hear a “me-yow! me-yow!” down there. That was good! Says I,“me-yow! me-yow!” as soft as I could, and then I put out the light and scrambled out of the window onto the shed. Then I slipped down to the ground and crawled in amongst the trees, and sure enough there was Tom Sawyer waiting for me.”

Huck listens to Tom Sawyer because he looks up to Tom. He wants to be like Tom but Tom wants him to go back to the Widow and be respectful. Since he looks up to Tom, he listens.

character: Jim

During the course of the story, I have encountered many struggles involving

slavery and danger. I first began my journey when I made the decision to run away from my master. I ran away because Miss Watson  was going to sell me to New Orleans, and separate me from my wife and kids. Also New Orleans is the worst place to be for a slave. To my surprise, during my escape, I over heard someone say that Huckleberry Finn was murdered! There was no doubt it was the work of the devil himself. However, the next night I walked up on Huck in the flesh. Which showed me that old Huck was pretty clever indeed, cause he must of faked his own death!
