2.  Choose a passage from either chapter 28 or 29 and either interpret it or ask a discussion question about it.

Assignment one:  Go on to Google, and find an interesting fact about the novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn or about the author, Mark Twain (specifically when it comes to the novel).  Has this novel been in the news recently?  What was the writing process like for Mark Twain when he wrote the novel?  Did Mark Twain own slaves?  Experiment with keywords to do your search, and think creatively so posts do not repeat.  Post the URL to your blog, and summarize the interesting fact about the novel or Mark Twain in a few sentences.

Assignment two: Satire is the use of humor to criticize people’s stupidity or vices.  Give an example of how this novel is a satire.  Use a passage to back up your response.

Assignment three: Find one passage from anywhere in the novel and ask a discussion question about it.

1a) The theme I picked is racism.

1b)”he could speak all kinds of languages, and knowed everything. and that ain’t the wust. They said he could vote…”

1c)This passage reveals that pap is racist. Also how pap doesn’t think it’s right that blacks get to vote and how the black man was rich.

2) I think Tom sawyer has a strong influence on Huck because Tom is a lot smarter than Huck & teaches Huck a lot more than he knows. “

1) The question that I asked is “Did Mark Twain own any slaves?”  What I found is that before he was using the name Mark Twain he owned  a pair of slaves.
