Hi! I’m Mrs. Van Aulen.

Welcome back to school! I hope that you all had a fantastic summer and were able to spend a lot of time with loved ones. I am looking forward to hearing about everybody’s summer.

For those you who are new to MTHS, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Heather Van Aulen and I am one of the life skills teachers at the high school. (I also have a fantastic co-teacher in life skills named Cara Morgan.) This will be my fourth year teaching and I absolutely love it! My goal for all of my students is that they find something to do after school that they love as much as I love teaching. I grew up in Lancaster County and have lived here all of my life. I attended Solanco schools and then went to Millersville University for my bachelor’s degree. I got married to my college sweetheart, Jesse,  in 2010 and we added our adorable dog Maci to our family shortly after. I also have two nieces and two nephews that I love to spend time with.  If I’m not spending time with my family, you can usually find me reading, crafting, watching movies, or baking. I am also working on my master’s degree so I took four graduate classes this summer. I was very busy!

I’m glad that I can share a little about me. I look forward to learning more about all of the students and families that I will work with this year. 2012-2013 school year is going to be a great!
